Music
For Life
The Academy's aim is that each child
develops an inbuilt ability to absorb music at an early age, which
will inspire participation for life. This overall approach
to “music for life” is based on the following;
• Everyone at whatever
age has the capability of both appreciating and creating music.
• Music can provide enjoyment,
discipline, self-expression, and development throughout life.
• Musical expression
is achieved through a sequence of notes and sound, for which musical
comprehension
and technique are necessary.
• When teachers are able
to respond to educational, social, physical and emotional changes
children react
very favourably.
Professional Guidance
The teacher is a critically
important part of this learning process and with continued training
and ongoing professional development, will enable children to achieve
these aims.
The Academy assists, with knowledge and expression, each child's
ability to sing or play. This forms the basis of an involvement
and pleasure in music, which exists in everyone. Through inspired
teaching, a happy surrounding and creative ideas, this will awaken
in children the beauty of music and the importance of artistic performance.
